This piece appeared in Carolina's Got Art, a juried exhibition in October 2010, It's a Strange World, a group show at Baku Gallery in November 2010, my Windows Series show at the now defunct SouthEnd Home in December 2010, Kulture Klash in April 2011, and MoNA 2012. Sold at MoNA March 2012.
This large and elaborate "study" is an internal landscape of features and figures that populate the imagination. This is imagery that I have absorbed and abstracted while living in North Carolina.

This is a copy of a sketch by the Maori navigator Tupia, who joined Captain James Cook's first South Seas voyage in 1768 -1771. The image depicts expedition naturalist Joseph Banks trading with a Polynesian native.
